So Cute

My best friend (and born interior designer) was using those little pizza box stoppers as Barbie tables when we were kids in the 70’s. ☮️ 50 years later, Barbie can finally have chairs to match! 🎉

Purple Anyone?

I LOVE purple flowers. 💜 The altar arrangements were so pretty in church this morning, I went up afterwards and took photos. (I assume they were purple for Lent, which is a such a somber time... is it wrong they made me so giddy? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ferris Beuller

Welcome to somewhere between 1973 and 1988. I’m blessed to call these crazy people my neighbors. ❤️ “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” — Ferris Bueller

Incredible History

Thought this was interesting; perhaps you will too... About 10 years ago, my elderly aunt was in a nursing facility. One of her fellow (long term) residents gave her a large cardboard tube as a gift. My aunt, not knowing what to do with it, gave it to me. In it, were these two pieces of art. I thought they were charming, so I had them framed and hung them in my youngest son’s room, until he decided that he needed to surround himself with everything racing. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🏁 After doing some research, I discovered that these signed, limited edition prints (300 and 500, plates destroyed) were done by an Indiana artist, Gerald Nees (born 1938) who became a paraplegic after a diving accident at the age of 15. Now, I hang them in my office during the holidays/winter and enjoy both the art AND the story behind it. •

So Thoughtful

A belated post: on Valentines Day, a friend rang my doorbell and handed me this: a gift basket with the sweetest card, filled with the kindest, most heart-warming notes, a porcelain watering can, and a gift card to my favorite gardening center. ❤️ Gestures like this just MAKE my day... I mean LIFE.

Other Words for HOme

So beautiful and important and poetic and warm and wise and funny and heartbreaking and uplifting... ❤️ I actually bought BOTH the hardcover AND the audiobook, so I could keep reading, uninterrupted. 📖 It deserves every accolade, and I only wish it could be required reading for all of us. 🌎 Congratulations to @jassiewarga and @abbalzer for bringing something so lovely into the world. 🙌🏻 I adored these characters so much... I will miss them greatly. 😢

Beautiful

I’m not sure what is more beautiful — this gorgeous Colorific rose or the story from @portlandrosesociety that accompanied it. 🌹 Read on:
・・・
Colorific, one of my favorite floribundas. Planted along the sidewalk, I noticed a woman admiring the blooms. She spoke no English but was effusively describing their beauty. I cut some blooms for her to take along. The next day I received some green tea and a thank you from her, translated by her family whom she was visiting from China.

Just Checking!

I’ve been on the road for a few days; arrived home late last night. It’s still early. I see her jolt her head up and look around. She sees me, still in bed. She puts her head down and goes back to sleep.
