Adorable

She woke at 11, went outside (if I’m honest, I carried her down the stairs), came in, received her meds and supplements (wrapped in cheese, of course) and is happily back to sleep.

It must be absolutely exhausting to be our dog.

My Baby turned 17!!!

Why are you crying?”

“Because I know you’re going to grow up and leave me.”

“Mom! I’m, like… FIVE!”

He remembers this conversation. A couple of days ago, we laughed about it.

But, this morning, in a quiet house where everyone is still sound asleep, I’m sobbing into my coffee at the kitchen island.

My baby turns 17 today.

Honfleur, Northern France

The quaint, cobblestone-covered fishing village of Honfleur, in northern France.

(And, seriously, the best mussels and oysters I’ve had in my entire life — AND a lesson from our new friend, Jean-Yves, in how to eat mussels the proper French way. [link in first comment!])

Awwww Thanks!

Thank you SO MUCH to the Portland Book Review for these sentiments about my latest book, JOY RIDE. 🥰❤️

“Bestselling author Sherri Duskey Rinker has written a wonderful book that touches on many important topics: the lure of conformity, the joy of self-acceptance and inventive self-expression, the danger of anger, and even the value of recycling. At the same time, bestselling illustrator Ana Ramirez Gonzales’s illustrations in brilliant, warm colors complement the text and make Joy’s personality leap off the page. In sum, this is a beautiful book.” 🚲💫
